Indiana University Columbus and the Crimson Pride Athletic Department have partnered with Motion, the technology platform for modern college athletics, to provide a modern solution for their student-athletes to increase name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities.

“As a young athletic department looking for every opportunity to enhance the student-athlete experience, this is an area I’ve been looking into for quite some time. This partnership with Motion gives our student-athletes a smart and safe way to jump head-first into NIL opportunities with local businesses and beyond,” said IU Columbus Athletic Director Zach McClellan.

With this partnership, every student-athlete at IU Columbus will have access to Motion Money, a mobile-first platform that empowers them to build their brand, generate NIL deals, and handle taxes with ease. The technology has tracking and visibility for the athletic department, as well as built-in guardrails to ensure compliance with institutional, state, and NAIA regulations.

“Zach and his staff are giving everything they have to make the student-athlete experience one-of-a-kind at IU Columbus. They are a young athletic department and growing quickly and innovating along the way. Motion is a tool for them to take the next step. We are going to give everything we have to help them accelerate their journey,” said Motion CEO Jay Townsend.

The launch of Motion at IU Columbus reflects the university’s commitment to equipping its student-athletes not just for success on the field and court, but off the field and court as well. As college sports continue to shift toward more athlete-centered models, the Crimson Pride are taking a proactive approach to building systems that are modern, transparent, and athlete-friendly.

“Being a former IU athlete myself, who played professionally prior to being a small college AD, and seeing that Motion was founded by top IU Kelley school of business minds and invested in by one of the biggest named IU alums in history, it's an absolute no brainer to connect all of those dots for our student-athletes here at IU Columbus," McClellan said.

Bushnell University Athletics has officially partnered with Motion, a rising leader in athletic department technology, to bring a new level of efficiency and connectivity to the student-athlete experience.

This partnership marks a significant step forward for the Beacons, who are embracing an all-in-one digital platform designed specifically for college athletic programs. Motion’s team management product, Motion Team, centralizes team communication, scheduling, film sharing, and health and wellness tools into one easy-to-use app.

“We are excited to implement Motion as a key communication tool for our athletic department. For teams, it is daily, while for us as administrators, it will allow us to be more involved in the daily/weekly communication flow with both our coaches and student-athletes. As a relational university and department, Motion will allow us to be more intentional with communication while giving student-athletes more access to information that they are wanting,” said Bushnell Athletic Director Corey Anderson.

With a modern interface and easy-to-use features, Motion is helping athletic departments like Bushnell’s reduce manual work, eliminate app overload, and stay connected with their athletes in real time. The platform was built by former athletes and coaches who understand the unique demands of college athletics.

“Bushnell is a program that leads with integrity and care, and we’re proud to help power their next chapter,” said Motion Co-founder and CEO Jay Townsend.

As the college sports landscape continues to evolve, Bushnell’s partnership with Motion reflects a commitment not just to keeping up, but to leading with intentionality and excellence.

We’re proud to share that Mark Cuban has invested in our vision for the future of college athletics.

His investment in Motion shows that as college athletics continues to evolve, the people closest to the game are best positioned to build what’s next.

Built by former college coaches, athletes, and administrators, Motion was created to help athletic departments and programs run smarter. From scheduling and communication to compliance and NIL, we’re building the tools that programs actually need—and making them accessible, modern, and ridiculously easy to use.

“College athletics is a rapidly changing business, and Motion is setting the standard for how modern programs operate,” said Cuban.

Cuban’s support will help us expand faster, serve more schools, and continue building a platform that empowers the unsung heroes in college athletics: coaches, operations staff, compliance admins, and student-athletes.

“Mark’s belief in our mission is more than just a vote of confidence, it’s a recognition that college athletics is changing fast, and that Motion is uniquely positioned to meet the moment”, said Motion CEO Jay Townsend.

We’re just getting started. Let’s move.

Point University is excited to announce a new partnership with Motion, the technology platform for modern college athletics. This partnership will provide Skyhawks coaches, staff, and student-athletes with an all-in-one platform to streamline communication, improve organization, and support holistic student-athlete development.

Motion’s mobile-native platform is designed to simplify the daily operations of athletic programs by combining team scheduling, messaging, film distribution, nutrition tracking, and mental health support in one unified space. Built by former college coaches, compliance admins, and student-athletes, Motion is tailored to the real needs of today’s athletic departments—especially those at the NAIA level.

“Our new partnership with Motion will empower both our coaches and student-athletes alike. I’m looking forward to seeing how it enhances the operational efficiency and day-to-day tasks that go into running successful athletic programs,” said Point University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Jaunelle White.

The partnership reflects Point University’s emphasis on innovation and excellence, both on and off the field or court. By adopting Motion, the Skyhawks are investing in tools that improve efficiency, enhance communication, and help every student-athlete reach their full potential.

“It’s obvious that Jaunelle and her entire team in the Point University athletic department are dedicated to providing a first-class experience for their coaches and student-athletes, and Motion is excited to be partnering with them,” said Motion CEO Jay Townsend.

Motion’s platform will be rolled out across Point’s athletic programs this year, giving coaches and staff real-time visibility into their operations and student-athletes a central hub for everything they need.

We keep using the phrase “modern college athletic department” at Motion. So what does that actually mean?

It’s not about being flashy. It’s not about having the biggest budget. It’s not just a D1 thing.

A modern college athletic department is one that:
- Is a first mover—not waiting around for change to be mandated
- Sees change as an opportunity, not a burden
- Gains an edge by staying organized, efficient, and ahead of the curve
- Runs on systems, not spreadsheets
- Communicates clearly across teams, coaches, and admin
- Stays compliant without chaos
- Moves money and tracks it with confidence
- Frees up coaches to coach, and athletes to compete
- Uses tech that works for them, not the other way around

For all of the athletic departments working tirelessly to put their student-athletes in a better position for the future—Motion is here to lift you up.
